Bird Watching and BCN Day Celebration


The BCN organized a bird watching on the auspicious occasion of the BCN Day. On that program organizer and the participant went to the spot on 24th April 2010 at about 8am on Phulchoki Bus park. Then the team went up to Phulchoki Kunda and took the breakfast. While taking the break fast the team was divided into 4 groups to go for Bird Watching on nearby Forest in the different location.


The different groups went for watching the bird and returned to the celebration spot. Some of the picture are posted herewith.

CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK


Chitwan National Park is centrally located covering the area of 932 Sq. km. of  Narayani Zone, Nepal. It covers the area comprising Tikauli Forest to Rapti river to foot hill of Mahabharat Range.  It was listed in the World Heritage Site in 1984. The surrounding area was decleared as buffer zone in forest and private land in 1996. The community people and the park manage the natural resources in buffer zone.

In the park it consist of a diversity of ecosystems, which includes Churia Hills, Narayani River, Ox-Bow lakes, etc.We can find different mammals and reptiles such as One-horned rhinocereros, Royal Bengal Tiger, Wild elephant, Fourhorned antelope, Python, etc.We find birds like Bengal Florican, lesser florican, giant hornbill, etc.
